Seaweed extract powder is a highly active powdered fertilizer made from deep-sea brown algae (Ascophyllum nodosum, kelp, sargassum, etc.) via low-temperature enzymatic hydrolysis, physical cracking, purification, concentration and spray drying. It is a popular natural biostimulant in agriculture.

Different from common chemical fertilizers that only supply NPK, seaweed extract contains abundant seaweed polysaccharides, alginate oligosaccharides, alginic acid, mannitol, betaine, natural auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, as well as dozens of natural trace elements such as calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The whole processing adopts low-temperature technology to retain natural active substances of algae to the maximum. With excellent water solubility, it can be applied by foliar spraying, soil flushing and drip irrigation, suitable for most crops.

The primary function of seaweed extract powder is bidirectional regulation on crop growth: it promotes root development, strengthens taproots and stimulates fibrous roots at seedling stage, greatly improving the survival rate of transplanted seedlings. At flowering and fruit expansion stage, it controls excessive vegetative growth, preserves flowers and fruits, and reduces flower and fruit drop. Furthermore, alginic acid loosens soil colloid, relieves mild soil compaction, activates fixed phosphorus and potassium in soil, and improves fertilizer utilization rate. Besides, betaine and seaweed polysaccharides strengthen the toughness of crop cell membranes, greatly improving stress resistance including drought resistance, cold resistance, flood resistance, pesticide damage resistance and saline-alkali tolerance.

It performs better when mixed with compound fertilizer, organic fertilizer and water-soluble fertilizer. Widely applied in fruits, vegetables, grain crops, flowers and Chinese medicinal herbs, it is a common agricultural material for quality improvement and yield increase in green planting.
